HYDROGEOCHEMICAL CHARACTER AND GROUNDWATER POTENTIAL IN TERNATE BASIN, NORTH MALUKU, INDONESIA

Ternate Basin is located a small volcanic island in the archipelago of North Maluku, Indonesia. This has very limited water resources and prone to seawater intrusion. study aims determine analyze distribution hydrogeological interest points, patterns directions groundwater flow, hydrogeochemical quality facies. Determination free aquifer zone was carried out by geoelectric measurements 37 while interpretation confined aquifers 17 drill log points. The analyzed area, 126 samples were collected analyzed. piper diagram adopted identify determination basin with total recharge 54,155 million m3/year. saturated flow reaches 1.237 m3/day or 451.712 laboratory results indicates that from two sources suitable as source drinking moderate permeability met standards. There three facies sites consisting calcium magnesium bicarbonate (C4H4-Ca-MgO12), chloride (CaCl2-MgCl2) sodium potassium (NaCL-KCL). Bicarbonate type indicated localized systems. means site area close its source. Meanwhile, long process pattern allows interact magmatic matters. These can be used for policymakers appropriate accurate location exploitation public purposes. must considering quantity, groundwater.
